Evidence-based insights into study intervals, procedural acoustics, and distraction-free cognitive flow.

The optimal focus interval depends directly on your cognitive task complexity:

• 25 min Focus / 5 min Rest (Classic): Best for administrative chores, flashcard memorization, repetitive math problem sets, and overcoming initial study resistance.

• 50 min Focus / 10 min Rest (Cadenzato Deep): Scientifically proven superior for complex creative tasks such as software engineering, thesis writing, and architectural design. Neuroscience shows humans require approximately 15–20 minutes to overcome attentional inertia and enter deep immersion; a 25-minute cycle often interrupts flow right as peak focus is achieved.

• 90 min Focus / 20 min Rest (Ultradian Cycle): Aligns with human biological Basic Rest-Activity Cycles (BRAC) discovered by sleep researcher Dr. Nathaniel Kleitman. Excellent for high-stamina morning sessions.

Binaural beats function through auditory brainstem frequency following response. When stereo headphones deliver 200 Hz to the left ear and 240 Hz to the right ear, the superior olivary complex perceives an illusory internal rhythm of 40 Hz (Gamma wave band).

Peer-reviewed cognitive studies demonstrate that 40 Hz gamma stimulation enhances working memory, sensory binding, and task persistence. Concurrently, Brown Noise delivers equal acoustic energy per octave with a steeper low-frequency spectral roll-off than white noise. This masks unpredictable environmental noises (doors slamming, conversation chatter) and calms sensory over-arousal without causing listener fatigue.

Yes. Cadenzato is dedicated to providing an uncompromised, beautiful sanctuary for thinking and deep study. We uphold three fundamental promises:

1. Zero Advertising & Trackers: No Google AdSense, no Facebook pixels, and no ad-tech brokers injecting scripts into your study environment.

2. No Paywalls: Procedural audio generators, custom interval presets, streak tracking, and ledger exports are entirely free.

3. Your Data Belongs to You: You can export your entire study history to standard CSV with one click, or purge all cloud and local records whenever you wish.

Cadenzato combines Google Firebase Authentication with low-latency Cloudflare Edge KV storage. When you sign in with your Google account or email:

• Your study ledger, streaks, custom task categories, and active sound presets synchronize automatically in the background.

• If you start a focus rhythm on your MacBook or Windows workstation at home and open Cadenzato on your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone at a library, your streaks and hours are immediately up to date.

Yes. Cadenzato is built as an offline-first Progressive Web App (PWA). Because the atmospheric soundscape engine generates rain, ocean waves, fireplace crackle, and vinyl hum using the native browser Web Audio API synthesizer (rather than streaming heavy MP3 audio files), you can run Cadenzato in full offline mode during flights, library dead-zones, or mountain retreats.

Procrastination is rarely a character flaw; it is an emotional resistance response to an ambiguously defined outcome. When a task says "Finish Master's Thesis Chapter 4", the amygdala flags it as a cognitive threat.

Cadenzato's Micro-Task module forces you to decompose projects into immediate, granular 5- to 15-minute milestones (e.g. "Outline 3 bullet points for paragraph 1"). Completing a micro-task releases an authentic burst of dopamine, lowering the activation energy required to sustain flow.

Click the Focus Ledger & Analytics icon in the sidebar or header. In the Recent Compositions section, click the Export CSV button.

Cadenzato will immediately download a cleanly formatted CSV file containing your session date, completion time, cadence mode, category label, task name, and duration in both minutes and decimal hours. The file is encoded with a UTF-8 Byte Order Mark (BOM) to ensure dates and times open correctly in Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers, and Google Sheets.

Custom cadence presets allow you to tailor focus and rest intervals to your exact neuro-rhythm. Open Settings (Ctrl+, or ⌘,), navigate to Cadence Presets & Recipes, and click Create Preset.

You can name your recipe (e.g. "Thesis Sprints"), configure custom minutes for Focus, Short Break, and Long Break, and even mark it as your default favorite preset.
